Trekking 6 Days


Some unforgettable steps.....

"Quilotoa"  "Toachi" "Altar" shall remain for ever engraved in your memory...

day 1.... Quilotoa

day 2.... Rio Toachi

  • Transfer to Quilotoa, where you will admire a magnificent crater lake. You will need one hour and a half to swallow 600 meters to touch the salted water. Meal then direction to Chugchilán through the wildest "paramo". Meal and at night in the inn.
  • After a good breakfast, descent of Rio Toachi called " the big canyon of Ecuador ". You will notice the vegetation and climate change  during the walk. After 4 to 5 walking hours the group will be driven to Riobamba, " ciudad blanca ", free evening in the heart of the city.

day 3 Chimborazo

Departure to the 5000m Whimper refuge. Lunch at Riobamba before joining the hosteria " Releche "

day 4...Playa Collanes

day 5....Yellow lagoon

  • Having loaded the equipment on mules, it is the beginning of the trek up to the place of camp (Playa de Collanes) open view on the volcano. Altar has a horseshoe shape. On one side a gaping opening due to the last flow of lava, the other one a wall in the jaw form where hang on vertical glaciers !!!
  • Departure from the camp to the crater and the "yellow lagoon" in which float some iceberg coming from the surroundings glaciers ! After this magnificent journey often accompanied with the famous Condor of the Andes, return to the camp. Last evening in the tranquillity of the high andin mountains.

day 6.... Hosteria Releche

  • Return to the hosteria " Releche ", rest and recover your condition. Quiet evening next to the campfire before going back to the airport road the following morning.

The price includes....

  • Transport, guide, meal except the day 3 lunch to Riobamba, at nights in hotel of the arrival to Quito until return at the airport, all the necessary equipment for the campsite except sleeping bag, entrances fee to the national parks.

The price does not include....

  • The meals in Quito (arrived at Quito the day before day 1), tips, personal equipments.

to know....

  • The organisation and your safety is ours priority, we reserve the right to be able to modify the trekking route according to the level and the possibilities of the group or for climatic reasons. Our Ecuadorian guides are licencied by the ministry of the tourism.
  • It is recommended to have its own walking shoes, not supplied sleeping bag.
