This small lava heron is the unic endemic of his species in the Galápagos island. He eat small fishes, small crabs and lizards. He is a very good ficher usind the tide to catch his food. His duster give him an excellent camouflage on the volcanic rocks, it is easier to find it above the mangrove trees.
