day 1....  Quito

  • Arrival at Quito (2850m). Reception and transfer in the hotel. Presentation of the stay in detail. Meal and strolls in the colonial district of the hotel.

day 2.... Quito old town

  • Visit of the Quito colonial town centre classified world patrimony of the humanity: place of the congress, place of the independence, presidential palace, old cathedrals, San Francisco convent, museums such that of " Ciudad " and the famous hill Panecillo...

day 3.... Ibarra

  • Departure to Ibarra and its colourful market of a big variety of products. Then you will visit the town centre park surrounded with white colonial houses, where come from the nickname of "Ciudad Blanca", before going to San Antonio of Ibarra... Artists' village exposing and sculpturing the cedar in their workshops. Transfer to Otavalo at the end of the day.

day 4..... Cotacachi

  • Day dedicated to the community visit near the volcano Cotacachi where you will discover their culture, their craft workshops and their traditions. You will learn the weaving mill and the manufacture stages of the leather... Return to Quito .

day 5.... Riobamba

  • During the journey from Quito to Riobamba you will cross the high " paramo ". You will perceive not less than eight active volcanoes among which Cotopaxi, Tungurahua in eruption since 1999 and Chimborazo which dominates Riobamba with its 6300m . Installation in the Torril hotel then visit of the " Ciudad Bonita " nickname of Riobamba.

day 6.... Andean train

  • Early the morning, the most picturesque train of South America will drive you until " Nariz del diablo " where a "zigzag" allows to swallow 1000m of made uneven side of mountain, unique in the world. The end of the journey at Alausi then you will leave to Cuenca in the evening.

day 7.... Cuenca

  • Visit of one of the most beautiful colonial cities of Ecuador, Cuenca. Numerous religious sites containing museums and exhibitions of various cultures and Andes religious traditions. You will appreciate the coolness of parks and the alleys lined with impressive white houses with romannes tiles. In the middle of this colonial style you will discover a factory of the famous hats of Panama...

day 8.... Caja national park

  • Visit of the Cajas national park, more than 250 lakes at 3500m average height. Strolls and relaxation in the middle of these magnificent landscapes, tasting of trout which it is not difficult to observe in one of the numerous lakes. Return to Cuenca in the evening.

day 9.... Ingapirca

  • Early the morning, departure to Ingapirca, the most important Inca site of Ecuador. A local guide will explain you the history of this site and its numerous archaeological discoveries . Return to Cuenca late in the afternoon.

day 10.... Gualaceo, Sigsig

  • Visit of two communities, Gualaceo and Sigsig, whose craft is centred on the gold and the silver. These communities live in small colonial style villages. On the return to Cuenca, you will visit a producer of roses and orchids intended for the export. Meal and a good-bye evening.

day 11.... Quito, fligth back

  • Return to Quito by plane, connection with the return flight.
