45 minutes from Riobamba, the Hosteria Isabela de Sasapud (3100 metres), uphill, dominate the rio Guayllabamba valley. It is an ideal site to plan treks till the Altar volcano or the small village El Placer, passing by several altitud lakes... ( 5 to 7 trekking days, a good physical condition is necessary). The owners can plan horseback trip throught one of the wildest "Paramo" of Ecuador. You will observe an important flora despite the altitude. Many different flores, montain orchids often visited by colored humminibirds...

The bedrooms have an impresive valley view. They have all mod cons (hto water, private toilet...). A good continental breakfast is incud in the price. When you reserve, you can ask to the owners if they can pick you up at the bus stop or you can walk the 3 Kms till the Hosteria, one hour. To go there, you can take a bus from Riobamba till Chambo then an other one till Guayllabamba (sometime the bus from Riobamba drive till Guayllabamba), after Chambo ask to the driver to stop at th "la entrada de Quiñon".
